FAQ
How is this different from a peak limiter?
The main gain-reduction stage follows average RMS energy. Safe Level separately handles peaks that remain after RMS processing.
Why is RMS lower than Peak?
RMS describes average energy over time, while Peak shows instantaneous maximum level. RMS normally reads lower.
Why does Safe GR sometimes stay at zero?
Safe GR moves only when a peak exceeds Safe Level. If peaks remain below that level, zero reduction is expected.
Which RMS Window should I use first?
MID at 300 ms is the general starting point. FAST is more responsive, while SLOW smooths level over a longer period.
Does Safe Level guarantee True Peak compliance?
Not necessarily. For strict streaming or broadcast delivery, verify the final output with a dedicated true-peak and loudness meter.
